As the name suggests, this piercing is performed on the wing of the nose, but much higher than the standard Nostril - usually just below the place where the hard nasal bone ends and the cartilage begins.

Important conditions:

• Anatomy and blood vessels: Making a High Nostrila requires a lot of space inside the nose. The piercer must carefully highlight the tissue to locate and avoid larger blood vessels.
• Pairing (Paired High Nostrils): Although you can only get one, the vast majority of people choose two symmetrical piercings. This requires absolute perfection from the piercer (so-called mapping) so that the earrings lie perfectly evenly on both sides of the nose.

High Nostril is a piercing that requires calm from the client and surgical precision from the piercer. The cartilage being pierced here is noticeably thicker and harder than at the edge of the flap.

• Pain is most often assessed as: 5 to 7 on a 10-point scale.
• Guaranteed Tears: Due to the irritation of the trigeminal nerve, there is a 100% chance that tears will flow from the eye (on the side of the piercing). It's an involuntary reflex.

Healing in the higher parts of the nose is more demanding, the tissue swells more easily, and access to the piercing during cleaning can be difficult.

• Initial stage of healing: 3 to 5 months.
• Complete healing of the canal: from 6 to even 12 months.

1. Don't touch: Avoid touching the earring with dirty hands and refrain from "spinning" it.
2. Cleanse regularly: Wash the piercing site 2-3 times a day with sterile saline solution.
3. Avoid chemicals: Avoid using hydrogen peroxide, alcohol or antibiotic ointment. They may irritate the wound and delay healing.
4. Be careful with your hair and clothes: Make sure that shampoo or conditioner does not remain on the ear after bathing. Be careful when putting on sweaters!

In the case of a high nose piercing, the selection of jewelry is limited and the process of replacing it should be entrusted to a professional.

Jewelry during and after healing:

• No wheels: Due to how high this piercing is, it is not possible to put a ring there (it would have to be a gigantic, comical diameter to cover the entire wing of the nose). High Nostril is a kingdom of subtle balls, discs, tears and crystals.

• Threadless (Push-on jewelry): We strongly recommend using press-in labrets (without thread). Screwing the tiny ball onto the thread high up in the nasal cavity is torture. Press-on jewelry allows for quick and painless replacement of fronts.

• Downsize: Absolutely critical! A piercing at the top of the nose that is too long will block airflow and hurt the septum. When the swelling disappears after 6-8 weeks, immediately go to the piercer to replace the rod with a shorter one.
